A Blank Canvas

Today I have started a brand new project which is to write a daily blog from Monday to Friday’s with Saturdays and Sunday’s off to recover. When you see others do it it appears so easy and simple, that is until you try it. This is one of my goals and I will be sitting and writing each week in order to allow God to say what He wants to through me, however simple. I have a canvas on which I must paint a picture.

A blank Canvass

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

Over the past twelve years my team and I have been delivering a programme based on the book of Esther called the “Esther’s Academy”. It is a programme for women of 18yrs and up. It touches on each aspect of who they are as women and the things they are concerned about.

We start with their Identity, their relationship with themselves and God. The process of purification is looked at in detail based on what Esther experienced during her year of preparation. The blood of Jesus and how it purifies and covers us as individuals.  We explore simple relaxation and massage techniques. Diet, fitness money and investments. Communication, relationships married or single. There are many other areas that are covered all culminating in the Esther’s Graduation banquet which takes place in the presence of their friends and families.

The programme initially started in Birmingham and we really didn’t envisaged going any further but now it  takes place in the London and Luton U.K., Zimbabwe, South Africa United States and next month, Jamaica. It has been instrumental in transforming the lives of hundreds of women, putting them on a new trajectory.

It was a pleasure to watch the women turn like flowers towards the sun and watch God at work in their lives. When the women arrive at the start of the programme they don’t know quite what to expect. They don’t know the other women and are not sure who they can trust. As they take baby steps together they learn that they can trust each other and end up building friendships that affirm and encourage one another. By the end of the programme they are pleading with us to extend the time as they don’t know how they will manage without seeing each other each week.

All this from the story of the life of a young woman who didn’t even dare to dream about serving in the palace never mind being queen and sitting on the throne.

I am sure there are things that you never dreamed you could be or have. Yet as we study the book of Esther we see how training obedience patience and humility positioned her to possess half the kingdom and become a law maker so that she could save an entire nation. It also brings within our reach the hopes and dreams that have stayed hidden in our hearts.

During the programme we seek to pour into the lives of the women, bolstering their self esteem  encouraging them to truly believe that they are loved and valued having the strands of  purpose woven through  their lives just like Esther.

We want you to know that God has a plan and purpose on your life, God has plans to bless you and Cause you  no harm.

I am excited to take this journey with you as we move forward in Purpose.
