You will come in useful.
You will come in useful.
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.””
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
The book of Esther chapter 1, opens with a huge party. King Ahasuerus was proud of all that he had and was in the mood for showing it off. He was a proud man and what others thought of him mattered to him. I don’t know the exact reason for the party but some suggest that he was planning to fight a war. This would show he was capable of winning. And also impress a few people at the same time.
To this end he invited all the nobles and princes of the provinces, (all those he counted to be important).
The party ran for 180 days followed by an additional seven days of feasting, during which time the king was showing off everything that he owned.
The decor was lavish, the food and wine were elaborate flowing freely and everything was expensive, the palace was literally dripping gold. You may want to ask the question what was the kings motive. Why did he feel the need to show off his power and his belonging in this way?
At the same time that King Ahasuerus was having his show and tell party with the nobles, Vashti the Queen made a feast for all the women in the royal house. Although this was a modern society there was no way men and women would mix freely and interact socially especially where there was drink involved. So Queen Vashti threw her own party just for women.
When the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded that Queen Vashti be brought before him so he could show off her great beauty. She was to be dressed in her most royal robes, wearing the crown royal so the king would be seen in the best light.
Vashti meant beautiful or best. She was a beautiful woman with great dignity, she knew and understood protocol. Her father was King Belshazzar
Vashti means: Beautiful or best. She was a beautiful woman with great dignity, she knew and understood protocol. She was the only daughter of King Belshazzar. After he was murdered she was taken by King Darius of Persia and became the wife of his son Ahasuerus. Coming from a long line of royalty she was well suited for the role.
Right from the start of the story we see that the throne was occupied. There was a Queen already in place_ Yet God had his own plan in mind.
“It is God alone who judges; He decides who will rise and who will fall”. Psalm 75:7NLT
What I love about Gods plans is that they are never an after thought. His plans for us always begin before the needs become apparent to us.
This was the case in The lives of the children of Isreal. Esther without her knowing was destined to be Queen, and her beauty would be the door opener resulting in great favour for her and her people.
In your own life maybe there have been times when you felt that your life would never change for the better, you would never get that necessary breakthrough. Maybe you have a distinct impression that God is calling you to do something, but you look around and in your eyes everyone is already doing that thing. Joyce has already written ALL the books Maxwell has trained ALL the leaders and you can’t do awake what Jakes can do in his sleep. It feels like you are up the purpose creek without a paddle.
Let me assure you that if you are here on planer earth that God has a purpose and a reason for you being here. Make up your mind to let Him use you and stick around, you will actually come in useful.
